Julie has been teaching yoga since her certification in 2002. Beginning her yoga journey in 1991 she has practiced and studied Iyengar yoga and is grateful for the lineage of BKS Iyengar and for her teachers Jo Zukovich, Matthew Sanford and William Prottengeier. She is also a certified Ayurvedic Yoga Specialist through the Himalayan Institute.
Julie’s classes joyfully explore the poses with mindful attention to alignment. Her unique skills are keeping the practice accessible even when working with the physical challenges of an injury, or age related changes in the body.
Julie shares her passion for food and ayurveda through workshops, cooking classes and lifestyle coaching for healing and maintaining the health of mind body and spirit.
When not practicing yoga or cooking or going to a new restaurant, Julie is an avid downhill skier, paddle boarder and gardener.
