what is aerial yoga?

Take your yoga practice to new spaces with Unnata® Aerial Yoga. A fabric hammock, used as a prop is incorporated into traditional or “terrestrial” yoga postures. You will free your joints from the pressure of gravity and be able to invert with ease. Aerial gives your mat practice new depth and challenges the body and mind.

Yoga experience highly recommended. You will also want to come prepared by following these tips:

  • Wear fitted clothing: Sleeves protect under the arms and pants should be long enough to cover the back of the knees.
  • Do not wear clothing that have zippers or details that could snag the fabric hammock, as well as jewelry.
  • Do not eat at least 1.5 hours before class

Contraindications: If you have herniated discs, glaucoma, untreated high blood pressure, or are pregnant, then this class is not for you at this time.

Our aerial workshops will give you plenty of time to learn the fundamentals of aerial yoga, how to stay comfortable in the prop and ask questions about this unique style of yoga.
