Explore the Yoga Sutras and Bhagavad Gita with a master teacher throughout the program. Deepen your understanding by writing personal commentary on these ancient teachings, learning to apply them to a modern world.
Study physical and subtle anatomy
Understand the body as an integrated whole comprised of physical and energetic systems. Discover how the muscles, joints and connective tissue work together, then layer on an understanding of the energetic body and it’s subtler systems of chakras, nadis, vayus, and koshas.
Explore energetic practices for mind and body
Delve into the energetic side of yoga through meditation, pranayama, mantra and mudra. Experience the power of these subtler practices and learn how to share them with others in an accessible and approachable way. Learn to teach special populations
Yoga is for everyone who feels called to practice. Learn to adapt yoga for special populations including yogis with physical and intellectual disabilities, yogis in recovery, and those with eating disorders, anxiety and depression.
Understand asana beyond the physical shape of the pose
You know how to teach the poses—now learn to apply them for function and effect. Recognize the impact of physical postures and learn to use them to offer the most benefit to your students. Connect anatomy, breath and sequencing to skillfully create and adapt practices for specific populations.
Explore the science of Ayurveda
Ayurveda is an ancient and complete medical system that addresses how nutrition, lifestyle and wellness practices can positively impact your health and wellbeing. Explore the doshas, kriyas, abhyanga and more, aand how to apply it in your own life.
Create multiple, customized sequences
Leverage what you’ve learned to create multiple, fully-customized yoga sequences for yourself and for your students. Understand how to nuance a series of postures for a particular outcome and document the sequence in easy-to-read notation.
Practice teaching in a safe and supportive environment
Explore new techniques and try out new skills in a safe and supportive environment. Practice teaching your sequences to other 300-hour students and master teachers, giving and receiving real-time feedback.
